Support & Contact

Your department and LMU’s Department VI.5 have designated contact persons who can assist you with questions about the website relaunch or ongoing website management.

Contact persons: FirstSpirit web projects of the organizational units of LMU

Larger organizational units at LMU have their own FirstSpirit web project, in which all websites for that area are managed. Project administrators and coordinators are the contact persons for editors.

The project administrator—or project admin for short—is responsible for technical and administrative tasks within a web project. This person works closely with the technical team of Department VI.5 Internet Services. Typically, there is one project admin per web project.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Organizing and managing user access across the entire web project
  • Approving requests for new websites
  • Granting access rights to specific websites
  • Making adjustments to special pages such as “News” or “People
  • Uploading or deleting multiple images and documents in the MediaMaster
  • Handling technical questions related to the use of FirstSpirit
  • Working, if needed, in SiteArchitect and ServerManager

Special case – Cross-unit projects:
In so-called cross-unit projects that are not directly assigned to an organizational unit, the technical and administrative tasks are handled by Department VI.5 Internet Services.

In addition to technical roles tied to permissions within the WCMS, there are organizational roles responsible for coordinating the implementation of the website or the entire web project. This role can also be combined with that of the project admin.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Serving as the main point of contact within the faculty and managing internal inquiries
  • Coordinating the entire relaunch project within the faculty or unit, involving relevant content providers (e.g., departments, degree program coordinators) and internal decision-makers
  • Leading content analysis, content strategy, and the information architecture for the web project and its associated websites
  • Ensuring that content meets standards for accessibility, SEO, and accurate translation
  • Collecting and forwarding questions and requests from editors to Department VI.5 Internet Services

Contact Persons for Shared Projects

For central and cross-unit websites, there are dedicated FirstSpirit shared projects. Content-related support is provided by the site coordination of the respective area, while technical support is handled by the central support team of Department VI.5.

In so-called shared projects, thematically related websites are grouped within a single web project. For example, all interfaculty research projects under "53 interfaculty research project."
As a result, there is no central project admin or coordinator. Instead, site coordinators manage and support the content of their specific website only.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Requesting access rights for the website
  • Addressing questions about the website’s concept, structure, and content design
  • Making editorial changes to the website

Department VI.5 takes on project admin responsibilities for websites within shared projects.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Adjustments to special pages such as "News" or "People"
  • Handling requests for new websites within a shared project
  • Processing requests for new web projects

Your faculty can link to these central descriptions.

If you wish to request changes to a study program description, please contact Dr. Hünemörder from the Central Student Advisory Service.

The LMU's Referat VI.5 is continuously developing FirstSpirit further. If you have an idea for improvement, please follow these steps:

  • Talk to your project administration/coordination first.
  • Present your suggestion in the FirstSpirit Communitychat. This allows you to find out whether a solution already exists or if other users support your suggestion. The more organizational units would benefit, the higher the chance for prioritization..
  • Submit the Feature Request Form. Use the official form to describe your proposal clearly and help us evaluate its relevance and feasibility.
